MARY MARTIN GALLERY | DAVID UNGER

MARY MARTIN GALLERY FEATURES “YOU ARE MY BELOVED AND MY BELOVED IS MINE” BY DAVID UNGER

This January, Mary Martin Gallery proudly presents modern figure sculptor, David Unger. The sculptures of Unger embrace movement of the human figure through a combination of abstract forms and exaggerated angular and geometric shapes. David Unger and his artwork will be featured at two receptions in both of our locations in late January. The original Mary Martin Gallery at 103 Broad Street on Gallery Row will be hosting David Unger on Friday, January 26th from 4-6 PM. The newest Mary Martin Gallery is located in the Charleston Place Hotel shops and will be hosting David Unger on Saturday, January 27th 4-7 PM. Join us at either location or both for an enchanting evening of fine art at the Mary Martin Gallery!

David’s natural eye and rare ability for developing form, dimension and proportion has resulted in his unique style. The figures express a joy of life, often capturing a glimpse of a happy time- celebrating, dancing, playing, and reflecting on the simple beauty of life. Unger has been sculpting for 60 years and his works are exhibited in galleries, buildings and private collections throughout the world.

“David Unger’s work is reminiscent of the works of the English modernist Henry Moore only with planes and angles.” - Akron Beacon Journal art critic Dorothy Shinn
